Vintage 'sports model' mirror - a reproduction of Lucas model part number S528/UMB2, available from the 20s to the 40s. Convex polycarbonate mirror lens - care needed when cleaning glass, as it can sctratch easily. 5" x 2 1/2" head, Lucas type universal mounting bracket with two 1/4" diameter counter sunk holes in base at 42mm centres. The bracket components are solid brass with a plated finish and the mirror head and rim are cast in bronze, polished and plated. Slight underlying surface imperfections in the castings mean that the chrome finish is imperfect, and due to the thin nature of the back and rim design there may be some polishing marks. Please look at sample photos to assess the finish for acceptability, each mirror is slightly different. This elegant mirror was originally die cast, so the metal head and rim did not stand the test of time and mirrors in good condition have become very rare as a result. We produced a limited quantity to make this mirror available for those that needed one, and they will not be produced again. Chrome finish only. The mirror back is fitted with a 'Toby' medallion, as applied to our finest period mirror and lamp recreations.
