Brass Boa Constrictor horn with small trumpet. This is a fantastic, authentic reproduction of the inside or under-bonnet Boa Constrictor horn. The overall length of this super horn is just over 6 feet (approx 1850mm). The horn features our large. 90mm diameter horn bulb, brass horn reed, brass eared mount (with 4.75mm diameter mounting holes at 57mm hole centres), tapered brass flexible horn tube, brass collar with riveted 'Boa Constrictor Horn' badge, flared lost wax cast brass elbow finished with a machined brass ring securing the brass fly screen mesh.  The brass collar is fitted with a soldered and screwed cast saddle mount, attached to a 4" long L shaped mounting bracket with an interlocking taper and domed nut connection. The L shaped mounting bracket base has an undrilled brass casting that can be drilled to suit at up to 60mm hole centres. While this attractive horn was often originally mounted under bonnet it can also be mounted externally. The tapered flexible horn tube can be bent into the position required, though should not be twisted relative to the collar. Original examples of this horn are now extremely rare, and we are pleased to be able to offer this well-made reproduction item. We offer this horn in polished brass or nickel plated finish, complete with Boa Constrictor horn badge as original. Brass Boa Constrictor horn with large trumpet and clip on fly mesh. This is a super reproduction of the of the large flared trumpet Boa Constrictor horn, faithfully rerpoduced from an original pattern. This horn was a popular alternative to the snake's head horn and has been unavailable for many years. The overall length of this reproduction horn is over 6 feet, at 1925mm. The horn features our large, 90mm diameter horn bulb, brass horn reed, brass eared mount (with 4.75mm diameter mounting holes at 57mm hole centres), tapered brass flexible horn tube, brass collar, flared lost wax cast brass elbow finished with a spun brass 8" diameter trumpet with clip on spun brass fly mesh screen. The trumpet features a riveted 'Boa Constrictor Horn' badge as original.  The main 8" diameter trumpet section and clip on fly mesh guard surround is hand spun, with the brash fly mesh secured in the rear of the guard by another brass spinning, again as original. Three brass clips - two hanging and one folding - secure the guard in place on the horn trumpet rim. The brass collar is fitted with a soldered and screwed cast saddle mount, attached to a 4" long L shaped mounting bracket with an interlocking taper and domed nut connection. The L shaped mounting bracket base is an undrilled brass casting that can be drilled to suit at up to 60mm hole centres. A slightly damaged large snake or serpent headed horn/trumpet. A very small hole was found when the horn was returned from the platers, the damage is on the underside of the tube 40cms from the head mounting bracket. We have repaired and re-polished the tube (please see photo). When mounted on a vehicle the repaired section will be on the underneath of the tube and not visable.  The price has been reduced to reflect the repaired section. Overall length of this reproduction Boa Constrictor horn is approx 1750mm. The serpent head is pressed (rather than a casting), has glass eyes and forked tongue. The tapered flexible tube ends with the rubber horn bulb supplied. The lost wax cast brass mounting brackets at either end allow fixing. Fine woven brass mesh (wire cloth). Size 30 no. mesh - 0.3mm wire diameter, 0.6mm aperture (567 microns). Ideal for horn mesh or coarse oil/fuel filter screen. Sold in 6" squares (150mm x 150mm).
